- Monterey Cypress; 40X30; Mixed mediums on wood panel. This piece was created out of the fog… literally. The daily fog and cold weather for weeks was starting to affect my mood. I’m an island girl and not wanting to go out in it I stayed cooped up in my home making myself stir crazy. I finally made myself drive to the ocean and take a walk when I saw these majestic cypress trees towering above me. There they stood with the fog weaving in and out of there tangled branches above the rugged cliffs and turbulent ocean. That day I opened my eyes and discovered beauty in the fog.
